To our valued supporters:

Concert dates for 2009/10

On behalf of the members of the Melbourne Tramways Band, I take pleasure in advising you of the
proposed dates for our seventieth annual season of recitals at Wattle Park. These free public concerts
in Australia’s most significant tramways park, have been sponsored by the successive tramway
operators since their inception in 1940.

As most of you would be aware, Transdev TSL (known as Yarra Trams), was unsuccessful in tendering
for the new franchise to operate Melbourne’s tramway network and control will pass to the
new entity, KDR (Keolis-Downer EDI Rail), from 1 December. I take this opportunity to acknowledge
the band’s appreciation of the terrific support received from Yarra Trams, in actively supporting
the concerts during its tenure over the past decade.

At the time of writing there is some uncertainty on future sponsorship, but we remain optimistic
that KDR will appreciate the significance of the concerts and ensure that this fabulous unbroken
tradition will be maintained. The opening concert in October is presented as part of
Victorian Seniors’ Week, so please come along and show your support for the concerts at this uncertain
time.
As always, we thank our regular patrons for their continued support.
I may be contacted by email at exec@ melbtramband.org.au or on mobile 0438 551 475.
